Husky training in Indian Summer

You can be present at the training of our huskies and actively help. An interesting possibility to get to know the "Mushingwelt" deeper. When in autumn the days become shorter and the temperatures sink, then is the training start for our huskies. The summer months, in which the huskies recover, are over. As soon as the days are cooler from September onwards, the condition of our huskies is built up by slowly increasing the training units until December and thus preparing them for the coming winter season.

Travel data

From September to the beginning of December, from Sunday to Sunday.
Start and end of the training season depend on the weather.

Program sequence

1st day - Arrival We will pick you up by car at the airport in Kiruna. The drive takes about 1 hour to Moskojärvi. From our parking lot we will continue for about 3 km by snowmobile or 4-wheeler before you reach our lodge. During a cosy dinner we get to know each other.

2nd to 7th day - Training of our huskies After the morning feeding of our huskies and the cleaning of the Dog Yards we discuss the daily routine during an extensive breakfast. Every day we drive the dog sled teams on different training routes. If there is not much snow, we will train the dogs with the 4-wheeler instead of the sled. Besides training the huskies, we will also use the snowmobile to drive down the trails and prepare them. At noon we will strengthen ourselves with a warm meal together in the lodge. In the late afternoon we will feed the dogs again before the evening calm settles over the camp. During a comfortable dinner we will talk through the day - how did the dogs run and how will we organize the day tomorrow. The evening can end in our wood stove sauna.

Day 8 - Departure We drive you to the parking lot by snowmobile or 4-wheeler. From there we will drive you by car to the airport in Kiruna.
